# Chapter 44 – Cat Doors: Toward Him
*Telepathic Notes by Luma* (I'm a cat)
Humans tend to believe that events happen because of plans.
Cats know better.
Things happen because someone notices the right moment to move.
This chapter began with a door. Not a grand door. Not the sort humans make speeches about. Just a door that happened to be open at the correct time.
Naturally, I went through it.
The humans were discussing important things, the way humans always do. They talk, they analyze, they try to arrange the future neatly in front of them like pieces on a table.
Meanwhile, I noticed something much more useful.
A path.
Sometimes the right direction is not explained. It simply appears. A corridor. A doorway. A shift in the air that says: *this way*.
So I went.
Humans often believe cats are running away from something when we move quickly through a door. This is incorrect. We are almost always running **toward** something.
In this case, toward someone.
You may remember that Ryze was not at RyzeCo at this time. He was still working within Codemira, surrounded by people who believed they understood systems and control.
Systems are interesting things.
They assume the environment will behave predictably.
They assume doors remain closed.
They assume cats follow rules.
These assumptions are often incorrect.
So when the moment arrived, I did what any responsible feline would do.
I exited the building at speed.
Some might call it an escape.
I prefer the term **strategic relocation**.
If you would like to see the exact moment this occurred, you can watch **Chapter 44 – Cat Doors: Toward Him** below.
You may notice that my timing was, as usual, impeccable.
