# Chapter 43 – The Prophecy

*By Shyne*

Some moments in life arrive quietly, but you feel their weight immediately.

When my mother Selene showed me the words of the prophecy, I wasn’t sure what they were meant to reveal. She had brought a tablet with her that day, a photograph of an ancient text my father, Athros, had insisted I see. He believed I might have some idea what the words meant.

I didn’t.

But the moment I read them, I understood why he thought I should.

The fragment reads:

“He who does not bow shall rise.

The child of light shall know him.

The small guide shall keep the way.

In shadow and sun, he shall be revealed.”

Prophecies are rarely clear when you first encounter them. They don’t explain themselves. They invite you to listen, to reflect, and sometimes to question what you thought you thought you understood.

As I read the words on the screen, I found myself thinking about how differently Ryze and I see the world. At that moment he was still working at Codemira, and I knew that if he had been standing beside me he would have approached the text with careful analysis and logic. I tend to feel my way through things more intuitively. Yet somehow, those differences have always helped us see more clearly together than either of us might alone.

There are times when the world suddenly feels older than the things we usually focus on—older than technology, older than the structures we build around ourselves. The prophecy felt like that to me. Like a message carried forward across generations, waiting quietly until someone stopped long enough to read it.

And of course, every journey has its guides—some expected, and some not. Anyone who knows our story will understand that even the smallest companion can play an important role.
