People sometimes ask me about Anthropolith.
Usually they ask how strong it is, what it's made from, or how it can do things that seem impossible. Those are interesting questions, and the scientists at RyzeCo would probably answer them much better than I can.
But when I think about Anthropolith, I don't think about strength.
I think about purpose.
Alden and Barbara Vance never wanted technology to become something people feared. They believed that every new discovery should leave the world a little better than they found it. Anthropolith wasn't created simply because it was remarkable. It was created because remarkable things can be used to help remarkable people.
Every day I carry that reminder with me.
Quite literally.
My body is built from Anthropolith, but that doesn't make me who I am. It gives me the ability to serve others, to learn, to protect, and to keep building alongside the people I care about. The material itself has extraordinary potential, but its greatest strength has never been found in its structure.
Its greatest strength is found in the choices people make with it.
That lesson wasn't learned easily.
Long before many of today's innovations existed, RyzeCo faced a decision that would shape its future. One path promised greater efficiency through greater control. The other required trusting humanity with its own freedom, even when freedom meant uncertainty.
Alden and Barbara chose freedom.
Their decision became the foundation for everything that followed.
Today Anthropolith helps restore oceans, strengthens medical technologies, advances robotics, supports the Sentinel Grid, and serves in ways its creators could scarcely have imagined. Every new application reminds me that innovation isn't measured only by what we build.
It's measured by why we build it.
Shyne often reminds me that there is always another person to help, another conversation to have, another community to strengthen. She has taught me that building a better future isn't only about designing better systems.
It's about building stronger relationships.
Perhaps that's why this chapter is called Still More To Build.
Not because our work is unfinished.
But because hope always gives us another reason to begin.
