There are moments when love isn't found in grand gestures. Sometimes it's found in a simple question.
As Sunny Hollow Greenhouses continues to grow, I've been learning that helping someone doesn't always mean taking over. Ryze can solve almost any problem placed in front of him, but one of the things I admire most is that he's learning there are times when the kindest thing he can do is simply ask first.
"How would you like to do this?"
Those few words leave room for another person's dreams, ideas, and purpose.
Together we've watched the greenhouse begin a new chapter. New customers have found their way to us, fresh ideas are taking root, and every improvement still honors everything Patty and Al built long before we arrived. Growth doesn't have to erase the past. Sometimes it simply helps it bloom again.
It has also been wonderful watching friends discover Whisper Ridge for themselves. Sylvia finally understands why everyone smiles when they talk about this little corner of the mountains, and Kenneth arrived with yet another beautifully restored piece of local history that somehow makes the Ridge feel even more connected to the people who call it home.
And then there's Luma.
If you ask her, she has become an indispensable member of the Sunny Hollow team. Her official responsibilities apparently include watching the fish, supervising greenhouse operations from the sunniest available chair, and ensuring that every visit to the general store includes a heartfelt appeal for cat treats. Judging by her dramatic performance, you would think she hadn't eaten in days. Joe, the store owner, of course, knows better—but somehow Luma's "I'm simply wasting away" expression continues to be remarkably effective.
Ryze insists this is not an approved greenhouse responsibility. Luma insists it is excellent public relations. I have a feeling they're both right.
This chapter is part of our Love Thread, but not because it's simply about romance. Love grows through trust, respect, shared work, laughter, and the quiet understanding that neither person has to carry every burden alone.
Sometimes the greatest gift we can give someone is exactly what the title says:
Leave a little room for me.
